Explore another side to flight, the experiencing of flying in formation with accurately reproduced and scaled large aircraft formations. These formations, while large, are specifically designed to be easy on systems, and you should experience little if no framerate impact.

Military aircraft are designed for specific missions, not just taking-off and landing, with straight and level flight and a few aerobatics in between. These formations will allow you to practice flying in formation with a similar type of aircraft, flying defensive cover as an escort fighter, or put your precisely reproduced aerodynamics to their fullest use as you try to line up your guns in the shortest period of time as an attacking fighter.

An AI WWII B-17G combat mission formation, consisting in this case of 162 B-17G's, in the shape of three full Combat Groups arranged in a vic. The shape and scale of the formation is as per formation size and layout manuals at the time (although individual missions and tactical evolution dictated changes over time).

An AI WWII C-47 Skytrain/Dakota formation, consisting in this case of 36 C-47's. Paint schemes available are USAAF with invasion stripes, USAAF without stripes for different operations, RAF with invasion stripes and RAF standard scheme.
