THE AIRCRAFT
The Packard-Merlin Spitfire.
The Spitfire Mk.XVI paired the Spitfire airframe with the Packard-built Merlin 266. Developed for low-altitude operation, the mark is associated with clipped wings and, on many aircraft, a cut-down rear fuselage and bubble canopy.
The Flight Replicas manual describes the cockpit controls, simulator settings and flying procedures. The modeled variant does not have the aft-fuselage fuel tank.

Engine and cooling controls
The cockpit includes propeller RPM, fuel cutoff and radiator coolant-flap controls.
Canopy and door interaction
With the canopy open, the door latch moves the door through an intermediate position to fully open.
